12 Days of Christmas 3

It’s the 3rd day of our countdown to Christmas and our “12 Days of Christmas” success stories. This time its one of our players who has gone up north to ply his trade in the Rugby League heartlands:

🎄 When the club was founded in 2015, one of the first players signed up was a young lad from Ton Pentre; Cobi Green.

There are a few other well known faces in that team photo above but we’ll be talking about them more at a later date. For now, its all about Cobi.

Cobi continued to play with the Outlaws right up to senior level where he was awarded heritage number 26. In his time at the Outlaws he picked up representational honours for Wales at junior grade.

In 2017 Cobi went north to the Rugby League heartlands to study at University which was the end of his time at the Outlaws but the start of an amazing career as he was picked up by Bradford Bulls academy.

In 2018 he represented his country at U23s in the Commonwealth Games in Australia.

Whilst at the Bulls he had a brief loan period with League 1 outfit Coventry Bears.

At the start of this year he represented Wales in the Student Four Nations in Edinburgh before picking up his first Men’s cap for Wales when he played against England in the 9s World Cup in Australia.

And his career continues to progress. He’s just been named in the newly reformed Bradford Bulls Reserve Side.

What an amazing journey for a lad from Ton Pentre. Everyone at the club is immensely proud of our association with him and we hope other young Rhondda boys and girls see his story and realise that through hard work and dedication, a career in Rugby League is a possibility. 🎄
